Company History
In April 2003, AcceleDev was first formally established in New Jersey USA as a key strategic supplier of unique chemical raw materials and chemistry custom synthesis services. The organization quickly expanded as a result of several strategic core customer partnerships, built around our unique, industry 1st platform. The growth of these partnerships fueled further investment into the 2007 establishment of our AcceleDev R&D Co Ltd site and then our 2010 commercial production site, Jiangsu SeaGate Chemical Science Co. Ltd. Today our Acceledev global organization has a growing staff of 100 people, including 30 highly experienced process chemists.
In response to our customers’ growing demands, we’re continuing to make significant investments in our team and our R&D and production facilities. This includes our 2018 pharmaceutical R&D and production-based partnership with China based Suli Pharmaceutical Technology Jiangyin Co., Ltd. It also includes our newest 2020 announced commercial production expansion of our 2nd RSM site, Hubei SeaGate Pharma Science Ltd. Each of our sites is well equipped with a unique set of chemistry, analytical, and operational capabilities. This diversity allows us to seamlessly perform a wide range of multi-step process chemistry end-to-end, from milligram to multi-metric ton scales. This in-turn maximizes all aspects of API program efficiency for our customers. Since inception, our mission has remained consistent and simple: Provide innovative ideas and high-quality product on time, cost-effectively, while also holding in highest regard our customer’s need for open and responsive communication.

Acceledev Chemical LLC formally established in New Jersey, USA
Founder, Managing Director: Charlie LewisJanuary 2004
Established the 1st in industry supply chain management business platform of “Open sourcing market reports, independent QC, factory qualification”.
September 2004
Partnership established with USUN Fine Chemical Co Ltd in Nanjing China
Owner, General Manager: Gu Xiaofeng2005 – 2006
Established the first of many pharmaceutical customer comprehensive supply partnerships, based on our unique business platform.
March 2007
Acceledev and USUN formally establish our research and production-based organization, AcceleDev R&D Co Ltd, Nanjing.
April 2007
The Acceledev team achieved its first major Quality milestone of being an integral part of one of our external factory partner’s successful Janssen/J&J full GMP audit & subsequent API production campaign
May 2010
Business growth fueled the further expansion. AcceleDev R&D Co Ltd team moves into a newly designed/built 1200m2 Nanjing Laboratory facility. Personal expansion continues also.
June 2010
AcceleDev formally establishes commercial production operations “Jiangsu SeaGate Chemical Science Co. Ltd” in Haimen China.
September 2011
Jiangsu Seagate production site receives its 1st successful big pharma customer “RSM audit approval”
March 2013
AcceleDev achieves primary supply approval for its 22-step Simeprevir intermediate. This Janssen API achieved the shortest development cycle in the 100+ year Janssen history. Acceledev was primary part of the early pre-clinal R&D work through to commercial launch
June 2014
AcceleDev receives two J&J/Janssen awards, for “R&D Excellence” and “QA/EHS management”

Acceledev makes significant staff expansions in both its USA & China operations
June 2016
Strategic company focus placed on API process development and pilot production preparation, in support of our western innovator partnerships.
January 2018
Formal pharmaceutical R&D and production-based partnership between Acceledev and China based Suli Pharmaceutical Technology Jiangyin Co., Ltd. announced.
January 2020
AcceleDev proudly achieves its 7th consecutive Ecovadis awards for Corporate Social Responsibility, including 21 criteria across four themes of Environment, Fair labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
April 2020
AcceleDev announces a major commercial production expansion of its 2nd RSM site, Hubei SeaGate Pharma Science Ltd. Our Haimen Seagate site had been operating at 100% full capacity for 4 consecutive years.
June 2020
Acceledev was called-on to provide urgent support to a wide range of rapid development Covid-19 programs, including first approved Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, Comirnaty. We are proud of the trust our customers have in our team, to help them develop and commercially supply under extremely tight timelines.
