Monmouth Junction, New Jersey – November 2, 2023 – As the holiday season approaches, AcceleDev is pleased to introduce its inaugural Fall Food Drive, Sustaining Our Community, a heartfelt endeavor aimed at making a significant impact on the local community. From November 2 – 16 the AcceleDev team, headquartered at its U.S. Lab in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, will unite in support of the Community Foodbank of New Jersey (CFNJ). This initiative demonstrates AcceleDev’s commitment to philanthropy and community upliftment.
The Community Foodbank of New Jersey stands as a beacon of hope for struggling families across the state. AcceleDev has chosen to support CFNJ, acknowledging its role in alleviating hunger and poverty. The food drive will focus on collecting pantry essentials, extending an open invitation to both AcceleDev team members and the wider community to join this cause.
Charlie Lewis, Founder and Managing Director of AcceleDev, expressed his enthusiasm for this community-centric initiative, affirming, “At AcceleDev, we firmly believe in collective action and community solidarity. Our Holiday Food Drive is not only a platform for giving back but also a testament to our commitment to enhancing lives. We are honored to collaborate with the Community Foodbank of New Jersey on this journey.”
Pantry item drop-off hours at the AcceleDev U.S. Lab are scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday (EST). On November 17th, or soon thereafter, an AcceleDev representative will transport all collected items to the Fulfill Foodbank in Neptune, NJ, a crucial location within the CFNJ network and a lifeline for South New Jersey.
The list of most-needed pantry items is extensive and includes canned tuna, canned salmon, canned chicken, shelf-stable milk, pasta, instant potatoes, rice, cereal, boxed macaroni and cheese, canned soups, canned chili, canned spaghetti and meatballs, almond butter, sun butter, jelly (in plastic jars only), canned green beans, canned carrots, canned mixed fruit, canned pineapples, and essential items like diapers and feminine hygiene products. AcceleDev encourages individuals to contribute these fundamental items, recognizing that each donation directly improves the lives of those in need.
The Community Foodbank of New Jersey is unwavering in its commitment to combating hunger and poverty within the state. Their efforts extend to packaging food orders for local soup kitchens and food pantries, procuring and collecting food for distribution, assisting individuals with SNAP applications, and reaching underserved communities through mobile pantries. Beyond nourishing meals, CFNJ addresses hunger as a broader health issue, actively promoting the consumption of more fruits and vegetables, offering nutrition education, and conducting vital medical screenings to inspire healthier lifestyles. Supported by an outstanding volunteer community, CFNJ distributed over 90 million meals (more than 108 million pounds) last year alone.
AcceleDev warmly invites everyone to join in this charitable endeavor during the holiday season by participating in the Fall Food Drive. Together, we can make a substantial difference in the lives of those in need, illuminating the holiday season for our New Jersey community.
